The votes are in! St. Petersburg College and its nursing program are among the “Best of the Best,” according to the Tampa Bay Times 2023 rankings.
Both earned a silver award as best local college and as best nursing college.
SPC strives to provide a network of programs and services that allow students to achieve success and economic mobility, positively impacting the community.
“The values we live by each day at SPC are to better our community and provide support to our students to help them realize and achieve their goals,” said SPC President Dr. Tonjua Williams. “It is rewarding to see the College’s hard work and mission recognized in the Tampa Bay Time’s annual Best of the Best competition. Thank you to everyone who voted for SPC and our nursing program to show that we continue to offer the best educational experience possible.”
“SPC continues to produce the best nurses in the Tampa Bay Area,” said Dr. Louisana Louis, SPC Dean of the College of Nursing. “We are preparing quality nurses to be ready to serve an ever-changing health care system and have dedicated faculty, staff and administrators who stay ahead of the curve in order to meet our students’ educational needs.”
The Best of the Best webpage states that the community picks winners with their votes, “Being named one of the ‘Best’ is an honor, and with more than 135,000 votes received, this endeavor is a remarkable display of the love and support this community has for local businesses. So, congratulate the winners and continue to support them!”
This isn’t the first time SPC has been ranked in the competition’s top spots. In 2020, the college received gold awards as best local college and best nursing college. And in 2021 and 2022, SPC earned a gold award as best local college. The nursing college received a bronze award in 2021 and a silver award in 2022.
