ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Oct. 9, 2009) – The St. Petersburg College Board of Trustees will meet at 2 p.m. Oct. 16 to determine the credentials, qualities and characteristics it will seek in the next college president.
The public is welcome to attend.
Trustees also will discuss the composition, structure and appointment process of a search committee at the meeting, which will be held at the District Office, 6021 142nd Ave. N, Largo.
At a public forum Sept. 21, the board heard from 34 community and college representatives who spoke about traits and skills they would like in a new president. The board will consider that input before finalizing its expectations.
Carl M. Kuttler Jr. announced in July that he was retiring after 31 years as President.

ABOUT ST. PETERSBURG COLLEGE:
St. Petersburg College was founded in 1927 as a two-year institution of higher learning. Known then as St. Petersburg Junior College, it provided high-quality, fully-accredited programs with credits that were fully transferable to four-year institutions. In 2001, the Florida Legislature passed legislation allowing the college to offer four-year degrees. In response, the college dropped the word “junior” from its name and became St. Petersburg College. Today, St. Petersburg College offers programs at learning sites in St. Petersburg, Seminole, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs and elsewhere. It also offers courses and degree programs.
